NY Governor Andrew Cuomo took another bold step in favor of solar energy at his State of the State address in early January when he announced a massive expansion of the NY-Sun Initiative. The governor committed $1.5 billion to the Initiative over the next 10 years, which calls for – among other things – quadrupling the amount of new solar installed over 2011 levels.
The influx of new solar installations is expected to create jobs, stabilize energy prices, and make renewable energy accessible to more people. This is a tremendous commitment to clean, affordable electricity and energy independence – we salute Governor Cuomo and are looking forward to helping New York reach its new solar goals!
