Title Site Supervisor

A Site Supervisor is the backbone of the construction portion of a project. Supervisors are responsible for maintaining the daily progress goals, ensuring site safety is maintained according to the safety plan, ensuring installation quality is monitored during the entire construction period, and communicating to Project Manager. Typically, a Site Supervisor does not actually perform any construction himself but is in charge of validating work performed by others. A Site Supervisor must be versed in various construction trades so that they may accurately inspect and evaluate the multiple scope elements on a project.
A site supervisor has a wide array of job responsibilities. These responsibilities change from day to day depending on the progress of the project and unforeseen events. Some typical duties include monitoring the safety plan implementation, evaluating workmanship and quality, ensuring the project schedule is being met, reviewing any plan discrepancies in the field, coordinating activities between subcontractors and resolving any disputes which may arise on the job site. A Site Supervisor must be ready to take on unique challenges daily, with the responsibility of keeping a project on schedule and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect site visit data
  • Provide input to estimator
  • Assist Project Manager in coordinating sub bid walkthroughs
  • Develop detailed project task schedule
  • Site coordination, logistics, and site management
  • Daily presence at active projects
  • Onsite safety compliance documentation and enforcement
  • Manage site schedules and subcontractors’ schedules
  • Quality control
  • Facilitate inspections and final walkthroughs
  • Conduct system operations training as needed
  • Travel required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 year construction industry experience required; 3-5 of that in solar industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of legal safety regulations
  • Knowledge of commercial construction including practices and sequence of work
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and subcontracts
  • Ability to manage staff; including communication and coordination with subcontractors
  • Ability to travel
